Scenes from 'Star Wars' Recreated and Single-Cut from Sheets of Paper

In his project "Cut Scene", Marc Hagan-Guirey recreated various scenes from Star Wars by outlining and cutting these from single sheets of paper, a technique called kirigami.

… [Marc Hagan-Guirey] is a freelance digital designer, but that's just his 9-to-5 gig. His extracurricular activity is much cooler: Using a scalpel to make hundreds of tiny, delicate cuts in 8.27 x 11.7-inch sheets of paper to recreate famous movie scenes. His latest foray? Carving out iconic moments from the Star Wars franchise. The project, which he calls Cut Scene, is an homage to a saga that's been with him for a long time.

Due to licensing issues, he can't sell merchandise related to this project, since the franchise is owned by Disney and Lucasfilm, so he crowdfunded the exhibition "Cut Scene – The Exhibition" through Kickstarter instead.

Get Your Personal Primordial Sound Meditation Mantra for Free

In the tradition of Primordial Sound Meditation (PSM), as taught by Deepak Chopra, a personal mantra based on your time and place of birth is used. These personalized mantras consist of beej (seed) mantras that are calculated through your individual nakshatra-pada found in Vedic astrology. For every PSM mantra, the basis is "Om beej (seed) mantra Namah", where only the seed mantra changes.

Must Read: Learn 'Primordial Sound Meditation' Online from a Chopra Certified Instructor for Just $150

For the sake of this demonstration, we're going to calculate the Primordial Sound Meditation mantra for a person born in New York City on October 7, 1960 at 11.06 p.m.

If you don't know your exact time of birth, according to PSM and Reiki teacher Lisa Guyman, the Chopra Center has you use 6:30 a.m. to calculate your personal mantra.

First step – Details of Your Time and Place of Birth

Visit Prokerala.com and enter your details for your time and place of birth in their Nakshatra calculator (screenshot):

Second step – Find Out Your Seed Mantra

After having entered your details, you find out that your Nakshatra is "Krithika", pada 2, and the first syllable (your seed mantra) "I":

Third step (Optional) – Read the Mantra Chart and Control Your Details

You can control your details by looking at the seed mantra chart at the site do-meditation.com:

Fourth and Final Step – Make Use of Your Seed Mantra and Put It All Together

In this final step, you'll take the first syllable, in this case "I", and put it in the middle of the mantra "Om seed mantra Namah", replacing the default text "seed mantra" with it. The syllable is always suffixed with an "m", so as a final step you add that letter to your first syllable.

That leaves us with the personalized PSM mantra "Om Im Namah".

How I Use the Mantra

I use my PSM mantra in conjunction with the Natural Stress Relief mantra technique, since I find this mantra more appealing for the moment, and I have also used the very first mantra taught in Transcendental Meditation in my practice. For me, it all comes down to personal preferences.

Back from the Past: Home Video Footage from the Production of 'Back to the Future III' (1989)

During the filming of "Back to the Future III" (1990) on December 18th, 1989, a neighbour filmed the production that took place at a house in Arleta, California, which in the film acts as Marty McFly's home (YouTube link).

Universal Studios returns to the previous location in Arleta California used as Marty McFly's house for the 3rd and final sequel of the trilogy. The Delorean Time Machine has already been destroyed by the train and Marty runs back to his house to find old Biff polishing his Dad's BMW and his new Toyota in the garage..... imagine this is all playing out in front of you as you view it from the next door neighbor's house, through the kitchen window on your new VHS camcorder! This amazing behind the scenes footage has been kept on the shelf of that neighbors house ever since that day, only to be given to me (Videobob of Bob's Prop Shop) on my recent visit to the house in March of 2013 to be shared with you the fans!!!
