Meet the Actors Behind the Voices on the Animated Sitcom 'The Simpsons'

Upon listening to the voice of Bart from the animated sitcom "The Simpsons" this morning, it hit me that I still after all these years still don't know who the actors are, that bring these lovely characters into life by giving them voices. Here they are, visiting one of my favorite shows, "Inside the Actors Studio" in 2003.

PrintingFilms.com: The Growing Collection of Free Vintage Films for Typography and Print Lovers

In conjunction with his work as a director of the documentary "Linotype: The Film", Doug Wilson received a box of 16mm Linotype promotional films by Dave Seat, a Linotype repairman, for digitization. This was the upstart of PrintingFilms.com, a growing collection of vintage films related to typography, print and journalism, and the work and processes involved.

The collection started when Doug was given a box of 16mm Linotype promotional films by Dave Seat for digitization. In 2013, Carl Schlesinger (a former Linotype operator at The New York Times) donated his extensive collection of films to The Museum of Printing which assisted in the preservation of these films in 2015.

Along with donations from other archives and collections, this website will grow with content to preserve these films for future generations and curious people alike.

If you haven't seen Doug's documentary yet, a good start is to watch the following film from the archive, "Farewell Etaoin Shrdlu" (1978), documenting the last day of hot metal typesetting at The New York Times and their leap into the world of computerization:

Sunbathing with a Spectacular View on Top of a Wind Turbine

Use a drone and have access to a workplace with a spectacular view, and voilĂ , you get yourself a viral. Drone pilot Kevin Miller shot the following footage while on holiday in Rhode Island, showing a man sunbathing on top of a wind turbine.

"The guy must have been napping because he did not notice the drone for 5-10 seconds, but once he heard it he sat up to take a look.

"At that point I decided to take a closer look by moving closer to say hi. Once I got closer I moved the drone side to side to say hello and he motioned back to the drone. It was a cool interaction between us.

"Upon landing he saw me bring the drone down and was leaning over the edge. I looked up and wave to him and he waved back."
